Today was a great day out with the kids. Me and the two youngest got up early and met the local 7th graders and Kindergartners for a field trip to the fish hatchery. They have been farming their own Salmon to release into the river. Since liquids are not allowed on the bus we followed the school bus with the fish in our van. Once we got there we fed the salmon that are in the man made streams and learned a bit about their habitat. then off to release some fish. each kid was able to release their own fish right into the river and watch it swim away. they were pretty excited to see such a thing.

The picture to the right is Tracy and Kailey playing in the river after the release. Both of the classes went to another part of the river to catch Fry and frogs. this was a great time for the kids to use a net and play freely. I think I will have some tired little ones tonight.

fter the release we headed to the grass for lunch. what a beautiful day. It was sunny and warm. this is the first warmth we have had in weeks. After lunch we headed back home (about a 45 min ride) to take baby Tracy to pre-k class. It is still sunny outside and I plan to start dinner soon. The crew is still out at work and I expect the Husband in a few hours. not too busy in the office today. The oldest is at gymnastics and all the others are quietly entertained by Spongebob. I try to let them have some quiet T.V. time in the afternoon to relax. everyone likes a bit of T.V..

Tree VS. Family

We are a family of 8. Myself, My Husband and our 6 children. We Own and operate a tree Service In Humboldt County, CA. I am a housewife and the business GM. Balancing family and business is a struggle. making sure that neither is neglected and they are both given lots of my attention to help them grow and become successful. My Husband is a Certified Arborist (Tree Doctor). Together we are a team. We strive for perfection but live in the real world where we can only do what we can do. Family is most important overall. Business is important and we truly love what we do. After all it is our livelihood. I am cheerleading coach in my free time. I am doing this Blog because there are few people with such a large family and a business. Over and Over again I get the question "how do you do it?". Well with this blog I intend to show you. It is always hectic, never a dull moment, but I wouldn't have it any other way. There are times the family has to wait for the business and times the business has to wait for the family. It is a constant juggling act. this is life and this is how we like it. I will post from a collection of the family and business together. I am learning to live frugal and green. this is a lifestyle that I was not raised in and it is such a learning experience for all of us.  I would love for positive comments from all. Thank you
